Do you need a controller, a wireless kit or one replacement part?
A wired edge may need an evaluation unit or a suitable input on the gate control panel. A wireless arrangement uses a transmitter at the moving gate and a receiver or interface on the control side. If you already have a system and need one replacement part, match the complete reference and generation. For a new arrangement, compare the kit listing with the edge and control board you plan to use.
A wireless kit may include communication equipment without the physical contact edge. Look at each listing for the number of transmitters and receivers, power requirements and any separate edge, termination or interface needed. For a complete control panel rather than an edge interface, browse gate control boards.
What does 8k2 mean on a safety edge?
8k2 describes an 8.2-kilohm edge circuit. It helps identify the type of input, but the edge, transmitter, receiver and gate controller still need to be chosen as a supported combination. Two products with the same radio frequency or 8k2 label are not necessarily a working pair.
Is a wicket-door transmitter the same as an edge transmitter?
No. The Bircher XRF-TW 407690 listed here is designed to monitor a wicket door using its switch and magnet. If you need to connect a sensing edge, choose the transmitter documented for that edge and receiver instead.
Not sure which part has failed?
Ask a competent gate technician to check the edge, wiring or radio connection, receiver and controller response before ordering a replacement. Do not bypass a protective device to restore movement.
