Where do you want to answer the call?

  • At an indoor answering point: check the kit's handset or hands-free unit and the required cable or system connection.
  • On a local cordless handset: check the radio link, power and charging requirements. Wireless communication does not mean the entrance equipment needs no power.
  • On a phone: compare GSM and 4G intercom options, including the supported network, SIM and ongoing service requirements.

Does a wireless range figure guarantee it will work here?

No. The route between the entrance and answering point matters. Buildings and other obstacles can change the usable range. For example, AES describes its 603 audio system using different open-field and through-wall conditions. Tell us about the distance and obstructions so we can help assess the equipment; a headline range is not a site guarantee.

One home with several handsets, or several properties?

These are different requirements. Give the number of independent properties, entrance panels and answering devices needed at each property. Several handsets answering one home do not automatically provide separate calls to several households. Compare the exact configured kit, not just the number of buttons or the word “way”.

What should I check is included?

Check the selected entrance panel, answering equipment, power equipment and mounting arrangement. Confirm whether a keypad or other access option is included or optional. Gate automation and door-lock equipment are separate unless the chosen package explicitly includes them.

Keeping your existing BPT or Videx system?

For a replacement rather than a new kit, use BPT handset and component identification or Videx intercom parts. Match the installed system and full reference before choosing an alternative. If you are still deciding which kind of system to use, return to all intercom kits.
