Where should I start in the FAAC kit range?

  • Above-ground swing: compare linear families such as 412, 413, 415 and S418 with articulated-arm options such as 390. Hydraulic families such as 402, 400 and S450H add further choices. Mounting geometry and the exact operator specification decide which can be considered.
  • Underground swing: 770 and S800 families are starting points for equipment fitted below the hinge. Check the particular drive, foundation box, release and linkage, as well as drainage and maintenance access.
  • Sliding: families such as 746 and 844 move the gate sideways. Confirm the complete model, gate duty and rack arrangement; the family number is not a universal weight or usage rating.

For a wider comparison, use swing kits, underground kits or sliding kits. These are cross-brand collections; the kit selection on this page is FAAC.

Why do suffixes such as CBAC and SB matter?

Suffixes can mean a different locking arrangement or gate-size limit. For example, FAAC offers S450H CBAC and S450H SB versions with different specifications. Send us the full reference and your gate details so we can help you compare the right version.

The same applies when comparing 402 CBC, SB or SBS packages, or standard and long versions in another family: check the details for the exact model you are buying.

Is a 24 V FAAC kit different from a 230 V kit?

Yes: identify both the operator version and the control equipment supplied. The motor voltage and the supply required by the complete system are different checks. A 24 V motor does not mean the package includes batteries or can be installed without a suitable power supply.

For 390 and 412 equipment, keep the voltage and full part number when requesting replacements. For battery backup, identify the control board and the specified battery/charging arrangement first. An XBAT or other backup reference is not a universal accessory for every FAAC 24 V system. Use backup batteries and kits for the exact-system check.

What should an itemised FAAC kit comparison show?

  • Whether the package serves one leaf, a pair of swing leaves or a sliding gate.
  • Full operator references, quantities and the supplied control board.
  • Receiver, remote controls, photocells and mounting or release components.
  • Whether underground boxes, locks, rack, cables and other required equipment are supplied or additional.

Labels such as UK kit, upgrade kit or a board name do not replace that list. Two packages using the same operator can include different controls or accessories. Compare the complete equipment requirement, not a bare motor price against a populated kit.

Where do 390, 402, 412 and S450H repairs or manuals belong?

First identify the task. A 390 arm or release, a 402 seal, a 412 cover and an S450H encoder are not complete gate kits. Use spare-part and model lookup, complete replacement operators or control boards, keeping the full reference attached to the enquiry.

For a manual, match both the operator version and the installed control board. A kit name alone may not identify the correct programming instructions. If a listed version is unavailable, ask us to identify the options; a newer-looking model is not automatically an interchangeable replacement.

Can you help select the equipment for my entrance?

Yes. Our gate survey collects the gate, post, hinge, opening-angle and usage information needed for specification. Include wind exposure and busy periods, not just total daily openings. Metalines supplies and specifies equipment; we do not perform site installation. The installer remains responsible for assessing the full system and its protective measures before commissioning.

Find your model

Use the full model and part number, including any suffix, when comparing a new kit, motor or spare with equipment already installed. If the label is unclear, send us a photograph and we can help identify it.
