Which box fits my underground motor?

Match the full motor and foundation-box references, including any suffix. Boxes for different motor families or generations can use different supports, drive linkages and releases, even if their lids look alike. If the product offers left- and right-hand versions, use the version specified for the gate rather than guessing from a photograph.

Does the foundation box include the motor?

A separately listed foundation box does not include the underground motor unless the product says so. Check whether the lid, gate support, linkage and manual-release parts are included as well. One item in this range is a replacement lid rather than a full box, so compare the supplied contents before comparing prices.

Can I keep my old box and fit a new motor?

That depends on the exact motor, box and drive arrangement. A newer model in the same family may need different mounting or release parts. Tell us both references and what you want to replace; we can look for a documented match instead of treating similar dimensions as confirmation.

What about rainwater and drainage?

Underground boxes need a way to drain water that gets in. FAAC's drainage guidance explains why runoff and silt matter even with a protected operator. Stainless steel or an IP-rated motor is not a reason to leave the box standing in water. Ask your installer to plan drainage and maintenance access for the site.
